On-site IRMA Audit of Kamativi Mine, 26 to 30 October 2026

From IRMA approved independent auditor Resilience Environmental Associates.

Resilience Environmental Assurance Seeks Input from Local Community, Workers and Other Stakeholders

Today, 15 July 2026, independent audit firm Resilience Environmental Assurance announces that on 26 to 30 October 2026 it will visit the Kamativi Mine in Zimbabwe’s Hwange District to conduct the on-site phase of its independent, third-party assessment (audit) of the operation’s performance against the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA) Standard for Responsible Mining. Kamativi Mine extracts spodumene bearing ore to produce lithium concentrate. It has proposed to produce Lithium Sulfate from the lithium concentrate. In addition, it plans to implement a Tin, Tantalum, and Niobium Recovery System and Amblygonite Separation Project.

While onsite, Resilience Environmental Assurance auditors will collect feedback from local stakeholders – anyone directly or indirectly affected by the mine – including community members, mine workers, and government officials. Auditors will also inspect the operation and its associated facilities. Even after the onsite phase is complete, feedback and comments submitted until 6 November 2026 will be included in the audit process.

An IRMA assessment results in a public audit report released locally and published on the IRMA audit page: https://responsiblemining.net/audits/kamativi-mine/ The IRMA audit report will describe how Resilience Environmental Assurance scored Kamativi Mine against each of the 400+ requirements of the IRMA Standard for Responsible Mining, and why Resilience Environmental Assurance gave Kamativi Mine that score. The report will also assign an overall achievement level: IRMA Transparency, IRMA 50, IRMA 75, or IRMA 100.

Kamativi Mining Company (KMC) can use this information about the environmental and social impacts of the Kamativi Mine to improve its practices. Other stakeholders, particularly affected communities and mine workers, may use this audit report to engage with KMC and others on a more equal footing to improve the operation in the ways that matter most to them.
