journal published a paper, Exploring conditions for just lithium mining in South America. The case of the EU responsible sourcing strategy  (Murguía and Obaya).

The authors find “the EU responsible sourcing approach overlooks critical local-level justice considerations — distributive, procedural, and recognition justice — that are highly relevant to the lithium triangle.” They use IRMA (“widely regarded as one of the most rigorous standards for responsible mining”) to illustrate that “while the EU’s [sourcing] framework aligns rhetorically with global best practices, it inadequately addresses the issue in practice.”
